At ServerScout, we believe in minimizing data collection. We operate a privacy-first community directory designed to collect only the bare essentials needed to operate safely.

1. What We Collect

When you log in via Discord OAuth2, we receive your Discord user ID, username, avatar hash, and email. We do not receive or store your Discord password or private messages.

2. Privacy-Friendly Analytics

To prevent duplicate bumps and track views/join metrics fairly, we record truncated, cryptographic SHA-256 hashes of client IP addresses combined with a secret server-side salt. We do not store raw, unhashed IP addresses in our analytics event logs.

3. Cookies & Sessions

We use essential cookies strictly to maintain your logged-in session state and to remember your preferred color theme (dark or light mode). We do not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies.

4. Data Retention & Deletion

You can request account deletion or remove your listed servers at any time directly through your user dashboard or by contacting our team.
